I am currently in my 8th Rotation and plan to finish my 9th rotation in early February. I will then give myself about 6 weeks to take the PANCE. During this time I will review materials and take practice questions. I find that the best way to review materials for me is to read Pance Pearls Prep and then if I don’t understand it well or if I want to gain more information I will watch Osmosis videos to better understand the concepts.
I know that I need to focus on the areas that I was weakest in on my tests, which are in the areas of infectious disease, dermatology, ENT and neurology. I faired well in GI and Pulmonology and Cardiology.
These areas I should focus on more but I should also pay attention to the PANCE blueprint and focus on areas that will be more heavily weighed on the exam. Each day I will study from 8 AM – 4PM and then from 6 PM to 9 PM I will do questions from Rosh Review, Kaplan and SmartyPance. On Fridays I will try to do an overview of the week.
I also recognize that I have a hard time with the length of the test. Throughout studying for the PANCE I will try to build up stamina so I could sit for the time and be focused and alert.
